About American Canyon

American Canyon is located about 35 miles northeast of San Francisco at the southern end of Napa County. Giving you the perfect balance of warm and cool climates, American Canyon is generally mild, with southwesterly winds from the San Francisco Bay. This charming hillside city has approximately 14,306 residents and continues to grow rapidly. Incorporated as a city in 1992, American Canyon is primarily made up of middle-income residences, with budding commercial activity along Highway 29. American Canyon is actively recruiting businesses to the area that will provide the retail services its expanding residential community demands. These commercial and new residential projects have paved the way to ensure that the community has the necessary goods and services to provide a high quality of life for you, your family and the many tourists traveling through this area annually.

Award-winning School District

American Canyon is a part of the Napa Valley Unified School District. There are three elementary schools and one middle school in town. Over the last three years, Napa Valley Unified School District has revamped its school support model, resulting in a 25-point gain on California's Academic Performance Index (API) district-wide, and growth in more than 90 percent of district schools.

Recreation for All Ages

American Canyon has several recreational outlets in store for you and your family. Children and teenagers will quickly discover baseball and softball fields, a little league complex, and a state-of-the-art 13,000-square-foot skate board park.
